Tasty Sunday
Today I had lunch with Tori at one of our favorite restaurants, Le Monde. I ate delicious French onion soup with half a loaf of bread. After lunch, we went to visit the Silver Moon Bakery to taste their French Macarons. I have been seeing photos of these cookies all over the place and have never eaten one. Of course I’m familiar with the traditional coconut macaroons but these are very different. I had read this blog post on my new favorite NYC food blog, The Wandering Eater, and decided this weekend I would finally taste a macaron. We ate one chocolate and one almond. They were larger than expected and very tasty. I enjoyed both but I really didn’t taste that much of a difference between the two flavors. I’ve satisfied my curiosity and it’s good to know that they are there if I want more. It turned out to be a very tasty Sunday.

I’m so happy that you got to try a macaroon. I have to say that before Tori took me to La Duree, I thought they were the coconut thingys that my Gran used to make. I think I may be addicted to the raspberry and caramel ones now. Must return to La Duree and buy more - drat. :) :)
